Newzbin Review
Newzbin was the first NZB indexing provider and model for all other NZB indexing sites that have followed. Newzbin invented the NZB file format and for awhile they offered the best service available for finding NZB files.
Unfortunately, Newzbin was shutdown in early 2010 and while the service was transferred to another computer Newzbin lost a lot of data and members in the process. During the interim, several competitors and alteratives have sprung up.
Presently Newzbin offers about 480 days of retention where as other competitors are in the 700 plus day range. Check out our list of best NZB sites for the most current recommendations.

All that a member has to do is contribute to the content. An editor didn’t actually post to the usenet, they simply indexed the content.
NZB File Format Information
The biggest advancements Newzbin introduced was the use of XML based file format known as nzb files. This has become the industry standard. These files contain a list of message ID’s that all lead to a string search result. With these new nzb file systems, it has meant that users do not need to download the headers for the target group, which means that downloads are a lot faster. This in turn led of faster binary file sharing.
Editorial and Human Review
Another feature of Newzbin is that all the content of the site is controlled by actual editors, not robots or automated programs. Given the amount of spam on Usenet, it is very helpful to have someone human filter out the junk. existing member.
